Oja Gbagi Tuntun

Oja Gbagi Tuntun simply means "The New Gbagi Market". This is a prominent place of business in Ibadan, the largest city in West Africa. Ibadan which is known for her high traffic commercial activities is sometimes referred to as Ile Oluyole (meaning "The House of Oluyole"), in the local parlance.

The New Gbagi Market otherwise called the Bola Ige International Market is located on a fairly large land space along the Ibadan-Ife Express road; a major link route to several parts of Nigeria. It is quite close to a landmark site that plays host to the Alakia airport in Ibadan.

The Genesis

The New Gbagi Market was born or otherwise built as a result of the special and intentional efforts of the now late Chief Ajibola Ige (SAN), former Chief Executive of the old and larger Oyo State (which has now been split into Oyo and Osun States). Chief Ajibola Ige was a former Attorney General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a former Minister of Justice.

According to reports, Chief Ajibola Ige defied the fiery shots of strong criticisms and frustrating antagonisms that came to attack this initiative, which was one of his major development projects for the state at the time, and today several people are enjoying massive economic harvests from this prominent Ibadan marketplace. The good deeds of good people truly live after them.
